Coach Pete a native of North Reading was drafted as a junior out of college (UMASS Lowell) in the 18th round by the Detroit Tigers Baseball organization as a center fielder and played professionally for 5 years. Pete has extensive involvement in the local community as a professional baseball instructor and coach, and through his professional and college contacts he has helped many of his former players to gain access into prestigious High Schools, Colleges, and professional organizations.
Since retiring from professional baseball Pete has devoted his spare time to coaching. He is the assistant Varsity Baseball coach at Belmont Hill School, the Independent School League (ISL) - Champions the last three seasons (2012, 2013 & 2014). For the past 20 years, Pete has spent his summers coaching elite travel baseball teams including Lightning Baseball of New England, So Cal National Travel Team, and East Cobb New England where he is currently a coach for their top tier team.
Pete’s main goal is to teach the basics and fundamentals and to reinforce the traditional values of organized sports: sportsmanship, teamwork, and upholding personal values, lessons that extend far beyond the baseball field. One of Pete's greatest joys is helping his players with their college decisions and reaching out to college coaches on their behalf.
